Emerging AI educational tools are predominantly engineered for high-bandwidth, resource-rich institutions; this empirical analysis explores the opportunities and infrastructural bottlenecks of deploying AI learning platforms within Cuban schools.

Artificial intelligence tools promise to revolutionize educational access, yet the vast majority of commercial learning platforms assume constant high-speed connectivity, cutting-edge hardware, and subscription-based software ecosystems.
Developing educational systems in Latin America face severe hardware constraints, periodic connectivity limitations, and digital resource scarcity, risking an exacerbation of the global digital divide if AI tools cannot function offline or on low-spec devices.
This research analyzes the incorporation of AI into Cuban education, identifying strategic advantages in automated diagnostic tutoring and localized curriculum adaptation, while documenting severe challenges in teacher training and technological infrastructure.
The findings establish a critical policy roadmap for sustainable, open-source AI educational integration in resource-constrained environments, ensuring that technological advances foster equitable educational inclusion rather than socioeconomic stratification.
Incorporation of artificial intelligence into Cuban education: advantages and limitations
Artificial intelligence (AI) represents a set of tools and models that have recently experienced exponential development. Due to its diverse features, it has received a significant boost and has begun to be introduced in a growing number of areas with a wide range of uses. In developed countries, implementing new technologies related to AI in the educational sector has an obvious advantage regarding the path taken. This research analyzed the possibilities of implementing AI in the teaching-learning process from an early age in Cuba. Based on a bibliographic review of the most relevant background information and the triangulation of statistical data provided by state entities, the information was collected and processed, making it possible to provide examples and guidelines for inserting AI in the studied context. Finally, the conclusion was reached that, under the relevant ethical standards, the use of new technologies in teaching would constitute a very useful tool and allow for raising the level of performance of both students and teachers.
